I am a clay artist who mixes wheel thrown and hand built pottery to create functional pieces as well as decorative art. With my decorative pieces, I often incorporate natural and reclaimed elements, and on my functional pieces, I enjoy adding surface decoration. My primary form of surface decoration is known as sgraffito (carving). I not only use this technique for decorating pots, but I also use it as a form of meditation and relaxation.
