Hand-Built Ceramics & Natural Body Care
I create natural products from locally harvested beeswax—pure beeswax candles, herbal salves, and balms. As a longtime soap maker, I use only herb-infused olive oil with generous amount of pure therapeutic grade essential oils. I use no synthetic colors or fragrance oils,or animal products, creating a very long lasting skin healthy soap. I hand-build one-of-a-kind stone ware dishes and honey pots with whimsical designs inspired by the natural world—bees, herbs, and flowers are always my inspiration. I also create hand-built ceramic seed pods as garden ornaments that make a striking statement, especially during winter. They're beautiful gifts for any garden lover.
I'm based in Carlton, Georgia. In my home studio I'm often found creating from elements found and inspired by nature—such as clay, willow, herbs, and beeswax. I began making soap in the Shenandoah Valley 18 years ago, using organic oils infused with skin healing herbs only. The essential oil blends are my own designed scents. I use local Ga. Mtn beeswax from the hives of family, and friends in all of my herbal balms and salves, along with homegrown herbs such as comfrey, calendula, laverder, nettles. I'm deeply drawn to the natural world in all its forms, using this as inspiration to create art that is functional, beautiful, meaningful, and useful. I love hand building with clay!
